General Research

JerseyClicks: New Jersey’s one stop library gateway to quality information. Its Quick Search function searches the full text of thousands of magazines, newspapers, reference books and biographies as well as indexed images including photographs, maps and flags — all from licensed databases purchased for you by the New Jersey State Library and State Legislature. One of the database segments, “Reference Solutions” contains detailed information on 13 million U.S. businesses (both private & public companies); 120 million U.S. households; 683,000 U.S. health care providers; 1 million Canadian businesses; and 11 million Canadian residents. If you already have a library card from the Dillon Public Library, enter your barcode number when prompted to do so after you put in your search terms.

The eBooks and eAudiobooks can be downloaded to a computer, a mobile device, a smartphone, an ereader, and a Kindle Fire. You will need a valid library card in good standing.

Digital New York Times: The Digital New York Times provides access from any device to the New York Times content.  Users will click on a provided code and make create an account.  Users will need log-in every 72 hours.  To activate your subscription, you’ll need to log in or register first.

Bernardsville News Archive: a collection of digital copies, of the Bernardsville News newspaper. NOTE: This link can only be used in the Clarence Dillon Library.  You must be in the library to use this database.

Business

Value Line:  Value Line puts you in the driver’s seat with accurate and insightful investment research on companies, industries, markets and economies. From the latest data, sophisticated tools and proven ranks to expert analysis and guidance, Value Line gives you the power to evaluate investments with confidence.

Business Source Elite: Provides an easy way to both browse and search for country economic data, company profiles, industry information and market research, and then use the results as limiters in a keyword search, if desired.

Legal Information Reference Center: contains hundreds of full-text publications and thousands of legal forms, with more content being added on a regular basis.

Reference Solutions: contains detailed information on U.S. and Canadian businesses, U.S and Canadian households, and international businesses. This database is funded by the New Jersey State Library as part of the NJ Knowledge Initiative. If you are not in the library you will be prompted for your library card number.  Reference Solutions was formerly known as Reference USA.

Weiss Ratings Consumer Guides: contain critical information consumers need in nine different areas: Health Savings Accounts, Variable Annuities, Elder Care Choices,Medicare Supplement Insurance, Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage, Homeowners Insurance, Automobile Insurance, Long-Term Care Insurance, and Term Life Insurance. Each guide offers a narrative about the subject and lists recommended companies.

Small Business Reference Center: is a comprehensive resource for small business owners and those interested in starting a business with full-text periodicals and reports, sample business plans, tax forms, videos, and reference books.

Computer Skills Center: Enjoy access to an array of information available including “Get Started with your Computer, Get Started with the Internet, Popular Software Tools, Computer Graphics and Illustration, Understanding Your Operating System” and more!

Careers / Education

Learning Express Job and Career Accelerator: An integrated job search tool with model resumes and letters, occupation profiles, job listings, tutorials, and practice tests. This database places everything needed for career selection and job searching in one easy-to-use Web application.

Points of View Reference Center: is an interface intended for public, academic, and high school libraries. It is designed to assist researchers in understanding the full scope of controversial subjects.

Heritage Quest: Heritage Quest is a new electronic resource licensed by the State Library in 2019 that will be available to public, school and academic libraries. Heritage Quest Online is a comprehensive treasury of American genealogical resources that will help New Jersey residents find their ancestors.
