Field of Honor® Display: June 24 – July 4, River Road Park, Bedminster, NJ. The Field of Honor® program is part of a national movement that started out as a way to commemorate the lives lost on September 11, 2001. In just a short amount of time, the concept has grown and communities like ours across America are turning to Field of Honor® tributes to raise money and awareness for a growing array of causes.
The Field of Honor® is a community project of remembrance, and an expression of humanity and patriotism.
Fall Fest: Saturday, October 14, 2017 noon – 5:00pm, River Road Park, Bedminster, NJ. A community Family fun day rain or shine. Go to Bedminstercharities.org for more information. A portion of proceeds benefit the Clarence Dillon Public Library.
September 10, 2016. The Bedminster Charities Fall Fest. This annual fundraising event held at River Road Park in Bedminster, NJ, is a family fun day with music and entertainment, food trucks, a beer/wine garden and kids games, rides and activities. The event raises funds for The Library, along with six other Bedminster-based charitable organizations.
April 30, 2016. Books in Bloom. The Friends presented a unique event at the Library featuring local artists’ creations paired with beautiful books illuminating and representing the art that the artists’ produced. Cocktails and appetizers flowed as patrons were awed at the talent and creativity of their neighbors.
2015 Special Events hosted by the Friends
June 17, 2015. Model Woman: Eileen Ford and the Business of Beauty featuring a lecture by author Robert Lacey. The Friends gathered over 150 peopleat Somerset Hills Country Club for a luncheon celebrating Robert Lacey’s bestselling book about former local resident and icon, Eileen Ford.
The Friends are honored and proud to provide the following venues to the Community through the Library:
The “Friends Café. The Café is a welcoming reading room awash with natural light that offers a coffee bar and light fare to be enjoyed while catching up on the latest newspaper, periodical, top seller or just a quiet place to settle in with your laptop.
The Children’s Garden. The glorious garden is located just outside the rear door of the Children’s Library where local children plant and cultivate the garden throughout the growing season.
The Display Case. This is a dynamic exhibition space changing on a regular basis to highlight interesting and unique collections typically made available by our patrons.
The Anne O’Brien Room. This room is an intimate-style conference room featuring many local historical collections and restored framed map. The collection represents an effort to preserve our community history.
