About the Author
Claudia Roth Pierpont, a staff writer for The New Yorker, is the author of Roth Unbound: A Writer and His Books and Passionate Minds: Women Rewriting the World, for which she was a finalist for the National Book Critics Award.
Claudia has a PhD in Italian Renaissance Art History from New York University.
American Rhapsody is a collection of twelve essays linking the lives and creative genius of Americans whose talent shaped the vibrant, eclectic, and celebratory culture of the 1920’s.
From the Kirkus Review:
[Pierpont’s] witty but sober and evenhanded voice is a consistent pleasure; her prose is limpid and evocative; her insights consistently dazzle… Pierpont has composed a refreshingly clear-eyed paean to the American artistic spirit… an uncommonly satisfying celebration of the kaleidoscopic culture burgeoning in early 20th Century America.
